Archetype Mini Series Crystals, Ventura Cigar Company

Inspired by the musings of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell over the recurring characters and themes in a hero’s journey, Archetype cigars launched in 2016, and cigar enthusiasts immediately took notice.

Archetype cigars include Dreamstate, Sage Advice, Strange Passage, Initiation and Axis Mundi have repeatedly been recognized for their flavorful blends and extraordinary smoking experiences.

Archetype Mini Series Crystals, Cloaks, and Curses was released with fanfare at the 2018 IPCPR in Las Vegas NV.

The Archetype Mini Series is now available for consumers on their own quest for standout cigars.

Michael Giannini, General Manager for Ventura Cigars said

“We were blown away by the attention the Archetype Mini-series received at IPCPR last year.

We know that Archetype is different, really special.

And if we’re adding to that story, the new smokes needed to live up to the legend of the ones that came before them.

And that, they truly do.”

The sun-grown Habano wrapper is roasted chestnut in color with an oily hue.

At 5 x 50 it’s rolled in the Robusto format with seam, heavy vein and tooth.

The vitola has an open foot with a rounded cap.

A large plastic sleeve covers the vitola, misty white in color it has a silhouette of mystic shadow hooded figure colored in light grey with a levitating “Crystal Ball” and a chained mace.

The motif also has a circular copper colored “ARCHETYPE” symbol with an “@“ in the middle.

Another smaller band sits on the cigar, colored in matte black with a gold symbol reading “ARCHETYPE” in gold font with “CRYSTALS” in white font on a matte black background.

Pre-Light aroma had notes of cocoa bean, malt and earth.

The cold draw produced flavors of sweet tea, leather and cedar.

Archetype Mini Series Crystals with its sun-grown Habano wrapper was a much lighter offering in the series thus far, the assessment of “Curses” will come at a later date.

MILD to MEDIUM in strength the core flavors of cedar, light coffee, creamy leather, nutmeg and nuances of chocolate were quite prominent in the first two smoking stages.

However in the final third a significant decrease in just about everything except the retro-hale which provided a transitioning white and black pepper spice through the nose adding some balance and minimal strength to the blend.
