Jas Sum Kral Tyrannical Buc Maduro

Never fear! Your tyrant is here! Introducing the newest addition to the highly-rated Jas Sum Kral line, the Tyrannical Buc.

Fresh from the gifted intellect of creator Riste Ristevski, this first-rate cigar yields a true power house blend of entrancing flavors and palate-pleasing complexity perfectly suitable for veteran smokers.

The Tyrannical Buc introduces brothers and sisters of the leaf to a style of power so intoxicating, it is guaranteed to rule even the most independent of palates.

For those of you about to treat yourself to this smokable JSK delicacy, prepare for a cigar that packs a punch so draconian, even Ivan the Terrible cowers under its hazy clouds. – Tyrannical Buc Press Release

Tyrannical Buc Available Sizes:

  • Magnum 48: 4 x 48
  • Generosos: 5 1/2 x 40
  • Dobles: 6 1/2 x 50
  • Golem Buc: 5 1/2 x 60

  • APPEARANCE

The Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper is roasted coffee bean in color with a light oily sheen.

It has a sturdy feel and is tightly packed, it’s rough to the touch and almost seamless with mild tooth and heavy vein.

At 6 1/2 x 50 it’s rolled in the Toro or Dobles format with a wide open foot and a triple rounded cap.

One band sits on the vitola, glossy white in color it reads “Tyrannical Buc” in cursive with colors of yellow-gold and black.

The profile of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Greek words meaning “tyrant” and “lizard” sits in the middle of the motif wearing a crown of gold.

Pre-light aroma had notes of chocolate, nougat, cedar and malt.

The cold draw produced flavors of cocoa, earth and leather spice.

  • FIRST LIGHT

An aroma of rich cedar fills the air off the toasted foot.

Immediate first light flavors of bitter leather and woody char.

Continuous combustion brings flavors of coffee, dark chocolate, black licorice and creamy leather.

The background profile is producing dark earthy flavors with nuances of bitter chocolate and roasted malt.

Black pepper keeps the Tyrannical Buc MED bodied PLUS with a balanced base of chocolate and coffee.

FULL white pepper on the retro-hale with a bit of cedar char and nuts on the finish.

  • CRUISE CONTROL BURN

In the second half the blend transitions and gets progressively sweeter losing a bit of the bitterness experienced at first light.

Milk chocolate, sweet cedar, light coffee and nougat are up front and on point.

The background profile brings flavors of earth, creamy malt and leather.

The spicy element of black pepper has decreased to a level of MED allowing the balanced flavors of creamy chocolate and coffee on every draw.

The retro-hale continues to produce white pepper through the nose with a finish of sweet cedar.

  • FINAL THIRD

Heading into the final third core flavors of milk chocolate, coffee, cedar and nougat are up front and on point.

Earth and creamy leather continue in the background with a balance of black table pepper keeping the blend MED bodied.

The retro-hale has increased to FULL with a sting of white pepper producing a consistent finish of sweet cedar.

  • CONSTRUCTION/STRENGTH

• CONSTRUCTION: With a firm feel the Tyrannical Buc performed flawlessly. No palpable soft spots, cracks or blemishes.

• BURN: Consistent combustion throughout with a razor sharp burn line and continuous smolder.

• ASH: The light colored ash was smooth without striations for the first inch-plus, after tapping it remained jagged at the tip on the straight burn.

• CUT: All three examples were v-cut.

• DRAW: Mild resistance with adequate smoke output.

• RE-LIGHTS: Zero during active smoking.

• FIRE: Long cedar matches.

• STRENGTH: MED bodied PLUS.

  • CONCLUSION

The Tyrannical Buc Maduro from JSK was loaded with creamy flavors of chocolate, coffee and malt with a balance of transitioning black pepper throughout all three smoking stages.

Three examples for standard review were put to flame in the morning, afternoon and evening producing an identical complexity in the flavor profile in a straight MED-PLUS bodied format.

The Tyrannical Buc is roaring to be paired with morning coffee or an evening stout and everything in between, highly recommended and box worthy!
