We spoke with James Razmig Agopian owner of Sinistro Cigars he told Cigar Smoke “The regular production Honor Among Thieves blend will not change from the pre-release version.

Everything remains the same, the only difference will be a brand new band.”

He also said “The pre-release was available to a few select shops and there will be an edition of a box-press Robusto added to the line for a total of four vitolas.”

The entire line will be introduced at this years IPCPR. No details were discussed on production numbers other than the project will become a regular production offering from Sinistro Cigars.

The Brazilian Cubra Maduro wrapper coffee bean in color with heavy tooth, seam and vein.

Looking rough, rugged and glistening with oils.

It’s rolled in the Corona Gorda format measuring 5 1/2 x 47 with a wide open foot and a rounded triple cap.

One band sits on the vitola, colored in light burgundy and purple it has the words “HONOR AMONG THIEVES” in gold with orange accents with medieval looking font.

In solid white font reads “PRE-RELEASE” on the bottom of the label.

Pre-light aroma had notes of heavy chocolate on the foot, damp earth and cedar.

The cold draw produced flavors of milk chocolate, meaty jerky and malt.

An aroma of cedar and chocolate off the toasted foot.

Immediate flavors of cedar char, leather and orange peel.

Once the blend settles in flavors of espresso, semi sweet chocolate and sweet cedar with a background profile of sweet dried fruit and raisins.

Front loaded with ligero Honor Among Thieves is producing a FULL complement of black pepper balancing in with the aforementioned flavors.

A long sting of white pepper on the retro-hale evolving into flavors of charred caramel.

In the second half flavors of strong black coffee, dark chocolate and rich cedar are up front and on point.

The background profile has transitioned to creamy leather and assorted roasted nuts keeping the blend balanced and hearty.

The spicy element remains consistent with doses of FULL black pepper hitting all areas of the throat lips and palate.

The retro-hale continues its assault on the nostrils producing FULL white pepper with a long finish of caramel.

Heading into the final third core flavors of coffee, dark chocolate and rich cedar are up front and on point.

The background profile of creamy leather, roasted nuts and malt balance in with core flavors.

Spicy black pepper has remained FULL from first light, keeping the vitola BOLD, balanced and right in my wheelhouse.

The retro-hale has continued its assault on the nostrils with a FULL compliment of white pepper with a long finish of charred caramel.

• CONSTRUCTION: Packed with Ligero the Corona Gorda had Solid construction. Heavy tooth, seam and vein gave the pre-release cigar a rugged and rustic look.

• BURN: Straight burn burn line with adequate combustion of wrapper, binder and fillers with a continuous smolder.

• ASH: The salt and pepper colored ash was smooth and solid holding an inch-plus requiring force to tap off.

• CUT: V-Cut all three examples smoked for review.

• DRAW: Slightly more resistance than a milkshake type draw with an abundance of thick white smoke.

• RE-LIGHTS: Zero.

• FIRE: JetLine triple torch lighter.

• STRENGTH: FULL bodied PLUS with a myriad of bold and balanced flavors.

Sinistro’s Honor Among Thieves was front loaded with Ligero hitting the palate with copious amounts of black pepper making it FULL bodied PLUS.

Bold and balanced it produced a myriad of core flavors such as espresso that transitioned to strong black coffee from the second half to final third.

Other notable flavors of dark chocolate, rich cedar and creamy leather with a complexity of dried fruit giving the cigar a long sweet and spicy finish making it a heavyweight contender for power bomb of the year.
