Short Cuts: Cubariqueño Cigar Company Guadalupe

Cubariqueño Cigar Company Guadalupe

Cubariqueño Cigar Co. celebrated its two-year anniversary with a special event at Berkeley Humidor on May 13th. “The Protocol Themis and Berkeley Humidors special event cigar, Guadalupe, was made available for purchase for our loyal customers at the event prior to the 2017 IPCPR trade show,” stated William Agathis.

Guadalupe was a special blend that was created by Cubariqueño Cigar Co. for a limited store exclusive, packaged in soft packs of 10. The Guadalupe is 6 x 52 boxpress cigar. We have not made the blend public on this offering. The Probable Cause Lancero also made an appearance at the May 13th event as well.

100 special event soft packs of 10 were available for purchase to those attending the event which was also attended by Erik Espinosa, owner of Espinosa Cigars and La Zona Cigar Factory in Nicaragua.

APPEARANCE

For now the blend and wrapper of the Guadalupe is undisclosed, at first look the box pressed cigar reminded me of a 601 La Bomba Warhead, minus the fuse. Hailing from Erik Espinosa’s factory “La Zona” the Guadalupe is light brown in color with heavy seam, tooth and vein.

Sans band we can talk about the packaging, soft bundled in 10 packs colored in red, white and green with a black lined silhouette of the beloved lady Guadalupe. Along the bottom reads “Guadalupe” with “Compañia de Tabacos Cubariqueño Hencho en La Zona” in white old English font on a black background. Pre light aroma had notes of light chocolate, pine nut and cedar. The cold draw produced flavors of sweet tea, powdered cocoa and leather.

CONCLUSION

The Guadalupe was a solid medium bodied offering from Cubariqueño cigar Co. The cigar transitioned well throughout all three stages with a solid balance of flavor that’s perfect for the beginner yet complex enough for the seasoned cigar smoker.

Soft packed in bundles of 10 you can enjoy it on the golf course or at a game of poker. With enough of a bite to enjoy with your favorite IPA or Scotch and just mellow enough to wake up to with your favorite coffee.
